Grammarian Role Description and Responsibilities
An authoritative speaker uses correct grammar and sophisticated vocabulary.
That is why at any given Toastmasters meeting, the Grammarian role holds much importance.
Now, you ask: what exactly does the Grammarian do?
At the very least, he or she watches for both correct and incorrect usage of the English language by each attendee at the meeting. He or she also brings, and encourages, the use of a word-of-the-day. Finally, at the end of each meeting, he or she provides a detailed report of how well each attendee performed grammatically.
Benefits of volunteering for the Grammarian role varies.
They include improved listening and analytical skills, wider range of vocabulary, less filler words, and an improvement in one's own grammar and speech.

Please see below for Grammarian Role's Description and Responsibilities:
- Introduce new words to the meeting and monitor for both correct and erroneous grammar usage
- Note down all speakers' language and grammar usage, paying attention to incomplete sentences, mispronunciations, grammatical mistakes and such.
- At the end of the meeting, provide the meeting report.
- This is optional: Introduce a "Word of the Day" that helps members widen their vocabulary; post the word, usage example, and its definition with a visual. It also helps to post how the word should be used in a sentence. Note who uses this word correctly and the most during the meeting.
