Sam Michel
Sam started working at Expeditors in January, 2016. He loves being a member of the Expeditors family and focusing on self-improvement. He is always looking for new ways to improve himself and meet people, and joined Toastmasters to accomplish both. Although he is a new member, he looks forward to improving his skills in public speaking, leadership, and other areas that Toastmasters can help with. As the VP of Membership, he hopes to impart the benefits of Toastmasters with guests and potential members.
Outside of Expeditors, he enjoys rooting for all Seattle sports teams, especially the Seahawks and Huskies football. In the winter, you can find him carving up the slopes of Stevens Pass, while he is usually out hiking when the weather improves in the summer.
Officer Responsibilities for Vice President of Membership
As Vice President Membership (VPM), you promote the club and manage the process of bringing in guests and converting them into members.

Responsibilities:
- Initiate contact with guests and help them feel welcome
- Provide hospitality and membership information for guests
- Reply to all communications from prospective members in a timely manner
- Manage the process of converting guests to members
- Monitor membership levels and strategize with the club executive committee to cover membership challenges when they occur
- Conduct membership-building programs
- Promote the club and recruit new members
- Hold yourself and other officers accountable
- Attend monthly Toastpeditors officers meetings
- Attend district-wide officer’s training twice a year
